As the title suggests, a party dress...

This cocktail dress is made in modern saree fabrics, and the design is heavily
influenced by dresses of the early - mid 1920s.

The bodice is plainly cut, with little shaping, other than that produced by the side
seams, and little detail, other than a slight 'V' shape to the neck, and a dropped
waist.

The skirt is cut in three layers - the top layer is the same soft, plain moss green
fabric from which the bodice is made.  It is lightly gathered into the low
waistline of the bodice, and is cut asymmetrically, to show the layers beneath.

The second (middle) layer of the skirt is made of a sequined crepe.  It is quite
heavy, and the pink fabric is embroidered with silver.  I used the scalloped
embroidered edge of the fabric as the hem of the skirt.

The final, lower layer of the skirt is a soft pink tulle, which is lightly scattered
with rhinestones (diamante).

The dress fastens with a side zip, and the hems are all sewn by hand, rolled and
whipstitched in a darker green.
