The other details of the dress are the same as with the other two versions. The gown is fully lined and the bodice area is boned. Inside the dress are hang straps, and a waist belt, which fastens with hooks and eyes, and takes the strain of the fairly close fit away from the zip. I also eases the fastening of the zip. As you will have gathered, the dress fastens by means of a concealed zip at the left side. I don't like to put zips in the backs of dresses because it can make you reliant on having somebody else present to do you up! NB in the pictures where the zip is open, it does obviously do up, but my client is smaller than my tiniest dummy!

The most elaborate version of the lilac gown, and my favourite, despite the hours and hours of work But you can probably guess that from the number of pictures! Again, the gown is princess cut, and strapless. It is made from a very soft pure silk crepe satin, with a tulle overlay. Also again, the dress has the rhinestone shoulder strap.
What makes this version different is the appliqué work you can see above, and below. I took another fabric - a lilac tulle, embroidered in silver, and I cut out all the little flowers and leaves by hand (there are lots!). I then pinned each piece onto the dress as it hung on my dummy. I checked and repositioned the pieces till I was happy with the placement, and then proceeded to hand stitch every one of them onto the dress. They are sewn only onto the tulle layer, so that it is still free to flow out away from the satin layer. The lilac flowers I hand made from the un-embroidered parts of the second tulle fabric, and I placed a single embroidered flower at the centre. Do click on the thumbnails, because you can see so much more detail.
