17th Century Gentleman's Suit
17th Century Gentleman's Suit
Abimelech Hainsworth - makers of fine cloth since the Battle of Waterloo
This is a 1640s gentleman's, or officer's suit (it is smack bang in the middle
of the 17th century English Civil Wars).

The suit is based on a pattern which appears in 'The Cut of Men's Clothes',
by Norah Waugh, (obviously, somewhat adjusted to fit a modern person).

The suit is made in 'lagonda' green wool, made by Abimelech Hainsworth,
of Yorkshire, and it is lined throughout in off-white linen.

The slashes in the body, and the openings in the sleeves, are backed with
dark red silk satin, and the suit is trimmed with a double row of dark red silk
braid.

The buttons are hand cast pewter, by Christophus.
