The trimming of linen at the foot of the skirt (which matches the bodice) is bound with a strip of the same dark green
used for the skirt, and this strip may be removed and replaced should it become clogged with dirt from brushing the
floor / ground.

The whole outfit was hand finished.
This outfit comprises a corset, bodice and skirt, again of the mid 17th
century, in England.

The corset, (not seen), is made in off-white linen, trimmed in dark
blue, and is fully boned using steel boning.

The bodice is made in light green patterned linen, interlined with a
very stiff flax canvas, and lined in white linen.  As shown in the
picture it is front lacing (using a handmade lace), and fastens over a
separate stomacher (also stiffened).  The tabs at the bottom of the
bodice are decorated with hand made green woollen braid.

The slashed bodice sleeves (open to show the chemise) have white
linen cuffs attached.

The cuffs and neckline of the bodice are trimmed with more of the
woollen braid, threaded into an off-white lace.

The separate skirt is made in a darker green linen, (which matches
the braid).  The hem is edged with a separate piece of the light green
linen used on the bodice, and this is trimmed with more wool braid.
